The Original Mast Store in Valle Crucis celebrated the legacy of the Cooper Family and their efforts to bring an old general store back to life at a Boone Area Chamber of Commerce After Hours on Thursday, June 12.
Congratulations Scholarship Winners 2025
The 2025 winners of the John E. Cooper, III Memorial Scholarship were recently determined by members of the Watauga Community Foundation. We are proud to announce this year’s four deserving recipients: Cameron Hall, who works at the Annex; Haines Heistand, who works at the Original Mast Store; Willa Rupp, who works at the Mast Store in Boone, and Taylor Sollie, who works in Waynesville.
Once Upon a Time... June 2025
A new employee completed their paperwork and had their first day at the Mast Store. And then, five years, ten years, and more flew by. Happy anniversary to these employees marking five years (Ricki Painter-ROA, Linda Bartlett-ROA, and Elliot Woodrum-ROA), 30 years (Jeff Meadows-SF), 35 years (Debbie Matheson-CPC), and 45 years John Cooper, Faye Cooper, and Lisa Cooper.
Mast Store Roanoke Celebrates Five YearsÂ
The Roanoke Mast General Store celebrates its five-year anniversary on Tuesday, June 17, and will host an anniversary event on Saturday, June 21. While Mast Store’s history in this city is still young, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been eventful. The Mast Store is proud to have been a part of the beautiful Capital of the Blue Ridge for five years and appreciates all the Roanokers who have made the store feel at home.
