Celebrating 35 Years in Downtown Boone
So many things were so different 35 years ago. Cellphones were available, but mostly in the form that had to be carried in a bag or was the size (and weight) of a brick. It would set you back around $3,000. George Michael’s ballad “Faith” was on its way to #1 on the charts (May 28, 1988). Gas was 90¢ a gallon. The Mast Store Old Boone Mercantile opened on Thursday, May 26 – just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
Land Trust Day is June 3
The Mast General Store is celebrating Land Trust Day for the 19th time on Saturday, June 3. As a part of the event, our local partners will have informational tables set up onsite to interact with our guests. Mast Store will donate 20% of sales on June 3 to support our land trust partners.
Bonuses are Back!
Well, to be honest, they never left, even when Lisa Cooper, Mast Store president, tore up the Bonus Wheel, which is being reintroduced. It is a way to look at the sales cycle of the company and match it with the bonus cycle.

A new employee completed their paperwork and had their first day at the Mast Store. And then, five years, ten years, and more flew by. Happy anniversary to these employees - Chris Collins, Christine Thompson, and Ashley Rose Montondo - celebrating their milestone years in May.
